Spring Engagement Session at Herring Run Park | Emily and Steve

I love getting my couples really involved in planning their engagement session! I want their session to be special to them. Their engagement photos should show off their personality and tell their story! Sometimes that means that we pick a location that is important to them. Emily and Steve chose to have their spring engagement portraits taken at Herring Run Park in Pembroke, Massachusetts. I had never been to this location, but it was perfect for them because Emily grew up in this area so this little park felt like home for her! There is a stream there where the herring run, hence the name, and it flows all the way to the Charles River in Boston. The light was beautiful there and, leave it to me, we met a pretty cool friend there!

I know that I said this was a spring engagement session at Herring Run, but I do think it’s worth noting that this took place while Mother Nature was having a severe bi-polar episode! The weekend before the session (Memorial Day weekend 2021) it was pouring rain and freezing cold…literally forty five degrees out! But, when it was time for Emily and Steve’s session, the weather was very different! Thankfully there was no rain. Whew! But it was roughly a thousand degrees outside! There was also a slight wardrobe issue right before the session and a last minute outfit change so when Emily and Steve arrived to the sauna…errr I mean park…they could easily have been stressed out. But not my couples, they are amazing! So much grace and excitement and we had such a great time!
