Cassandra and Katrina planned an intimate Viewpoint Hotel elopement, overlooking Nubble Lighthouse. At least, the view at Viewpoint was supposed to include Nubble Lighthouse! But fog rolled in so incredibly thick over the water that Nubble Lighthouse was not really lighthousing.
Let’s rewind to earlier in the day. Their elopement ceremony was set to begin at 6:00pm. When I arrived at Katrina’s getting ready location there were pretty clear skies and some visibility over the water. But we quickly found out that a thunderstorm was forecasted to begin exactly at their ceremony time. So we quickly worked together with the team to move their ceremony (and first look time) up to an hour earlier. I quickly photographed Katrina’s details and her getting ready with her parents. Then I headed over to the venue when Cassandra was getting ready. I photographed her details in record time and she got into her gown. Her mom helped her get buttoned and helped with her jewelry and Cassandra pinned her dad’s boutonniere. We quickly hurried over to make their first look, ceremony and portraits happen before the rain came!
Luckily for us, that thunderstorm didn’t actually begin until right around 7, which gave us plenty of time for them to enjoy their day with their parents and get so many portraits. The fog even lifted just enough for the lighthouse to be faintly visible in the background. And we had time to drive over to the lighthouse itself for a round of portraits there! It was truly amazing! I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from Cassandra and Katrina’s Viewpoint Hotel elopement!
Both pairs of parents held hands with their spouse during the entire ceremony. Such a beautiful example of lifelong love!
No matter what the weather throws at you…you should dance on your wedding day!

Cassandra and Katrina, thank you so much for choosing me to be part of your Viewpoint Hotel elopement! It was such an honor! I can’t wait to see what your next chapter looks like!
Their wedding team included their venue, Viewpoint Hotel in York, Maine, Hillside Flowers in Kittery, Maine, Cassandra’s gown from David’s Bridal, Katrina’s suit from Indochino, and hair and makeup done by artist Linda from Hair by Linda L.
