Kathryn and Son planned their beautiful backyard wedding during the fall in New England, in southern Rhode Island. October weddings in the fall foliage are so colorful and fun…and Covid-19 wasn’t going to keep this sweet couple from tying the knot! They planned a beautiful, intimate wedding in their backyard in Warwick and their details were so lovely!

Kathryn got ready at their home, surrounded by her bridesmaids! Her maid of honor took such great care of Kathryn!

Son surprised Kathryn with an engraved stethoscope! “He was told no gifts!”…..but a bridesmaid chimed in that “he’s such a great guy, he knew better!” When she opened the box she found a note that read “try not to freak out too much. Everything is gonna be perfect. I’ll be right next to you the whole time. Can’t wait to be your husband.” 😭 😭 😭 💜

Then it was time for us to meet up with Son and the groomsmen at the first look location! If you are wondering what is a first look (or why you should totally do it!) then you should check out this blog post! The entire wedding party was there, and definitely wanted to watch this moment, but I was more than happy to ask them to hide so that the couple could share this incredible moment privately. And it was totally worth it!

Just look at how excited Son was when he finally got to see his bride! 😭 😍 💜

Kathryn’s parents joined us at the first look location, so we took that opportunity to photograph some family portraits there! Here are a couple of my favorites!

Then is was time for some bridal party portraits! I absolutely love that the ladies had some variety in their style gown and I love these fall colors!

The groomsmen are always fun to photograph…and this group did not disappoint!

“Can we do a flask shot?” Ummm…you guys have flasks? HELL YEAH!!

I mean….look how gorgeous Kathryn looked on her wedding day!

Couples portraits are my favorite! And I’m not afraid to give my couples directions that are a little bit outside of the box to get them comfortable, relaxed, showing genuine emotions and having so much fun!

Veil shots are my absolute favorite! They’re so soft and romantic and if you wear a veil of any length on your wedding day…we’re doing a veil shot!

Then it was time to head back to the house for their ceremony!

My couples love to include jokes and laugh during their vows and it’s so freaking magical!

Sometimes they get a little emotional, too! Guys, these moments are why weddings are my favorite!

Kathryn also shared a special dance with her sweet father!

Apparently the guys thought this was a great opportunity to toast! 🍻 🤣 💜

Son then shared the sweetest dance with his mother in law!

And toasts are always a good time…especially when there are stories shared….or an occasional, accidental F bomb! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🥂🍾
